Bay Park Civic Association History

The inaugural meeting of the Bay Park Civic & Property Owner's Association took place on June 24, 1927, with Daniel B. Busch serving as the first mayor of the Association. Under Mayor Busch’s leadership, he and his Board played a pivotal role in securing the railroad schedule and establishing two station stops in the area. Additionally, they were instrumental in securing direct mail delivery for Bay Park residents. However, the community experienced a division, leading to the formation of the Association of Property Owners of the East Side of the Grand Canal, with its first meeting held on February 4. This split resulted in two separate associations. Despite this, on June 21, 1947, the Bay Park Civic & Property Owner's Association was re-established as a unified entity, continuing to serve the community in its present form.
